Appointments/Leaving Early/Change of Transportation
If you are picking your child up before the end of the day, please send a note or email that tells us when you will be picking them up so we can plan accordingly. We ask that, if possible, to pick your child up before 3:30 so it doesn't interfere with the buses and dismissal schedule.
If your child's transportation is different than normal, please send a note or email.
Weekly Newsletter:
A class newsletter will be sent home with your child each Friday. The newsletter will contain the upcoming week's schedule for our class specials, upcoming assignments or assessments, and the content your child will be learning in Language Arts, Math and Science/Social Studies.
It will also include information about special events in the classroom and for the school. Please make sure to check your child's red Cetronia folder every night and especially on Fridays to read the newsletter.
E-communication:
Every Friday, Dr. Giaquinto sends an email about upcoming events at Cetronia School and within the district; please update your email addresses to receive the weekly updates.
Projects:
Throughout the year, your child will have a few projects to complete at home with your guidance; we will work on things in school as well. Directions will be sent home for the job fair project and animal research project.
Assessments:
Most of our assessments will be taken on the i-pads; students will have scrap paper to use during the math testing process. A cover sheet will be sent home with their score, please sign and return it in their red Cetronia folder.
Ellie the Elephant and Star of the Week:
One student will be chosen every Friday to bring our class pet, Ellie the Elephant, home with them for the weekend. Ellie will come home in a bag with a book to read and a journal to complete. They can write about their adventures with Ellie throughout their weekend and then share their experience with their classmates on Monday.
They may even include drawings and pictures.
Each Friday, one student will be chosen to be the Star of the Week. They will be given a poster to complete over the weekend and present it to their classmates on Monday. This gives the students an opportunity to get to know one other very well.
They may also bring their favorite book to read to the class.
